Meditation can seem quite difficult and even frustrating at first, but I encourage you to go into it with an open mind to practice for just a few minutes a day and see what happens. If you look at it as an experiment and have fun with it, it is likely to be more rewarding for you.
Start by finding a quiet place for 5-6 minutes and listen to this (link) sample mediation from my Forest Meditations CD. These meditations are great for the beginner because that are based on visualization. No trying to get all the thoughts out of your head. Just listen and follow along. A more experienced practitioner can also use these meditations to go deeper in to his/her inner wisdom. Repeated listening is encouraged since no two meditation sessions are ever the same.
